Ricoh is not the only one. A former lurker called me once in a very
frantic voice. She had a third-party lens she got via e-bay stuck on an
MZ-5. I will have to ask her the brand.

Anyway, I methodically and calmly and eventually got the lens off. It
was by using gravity, a feeler gauge and a little bit of twisting.

My heart would stop if I ever did it on my camera,

I put an old 135/2.8 KA/R lens on the D just now and 1/2 way it got stuck! Had a devil of a time getting it off. Had to take a thin piece of plastic and slide it in between to release the stupid Ricoh contact from where it was firmly stuck in the little hole for the autofocus drive pin! That little Ricoh pin no longer exists, thanks to my trusty Dremel tool! Just a word of caution to those of you who haven't tried this

"Stupid Don Trick",,,

yet. :-(
