ok, my story: a couple of years ago, visiting NYC on halloween, i forgot my photo bag with some gear as well as documents hanging on a chair in a restaurant in east village. because it was after a few beers, the loss hadn't become apparent until a few hours later. my companion was sure (and so was i) that it had been long gone by then.
