When I pointed out high amount being bid, it was actually at $US99,999,999.00, which is the highest bid I've ever seen on eBay, and probably the biggest number that the bidding box will accept. You can see this in the cancelled bids on the bidding history page. Apparently the mischievous bids are purged every so often, and so the price rises and falls erratically.
