Yes, that sounds like a great tool.
I had a really annoying experience once. I was at an
aboretum in autumn (fall for Americans), beautiful
autumn leaves. I was taking lots of photos with my
Spotmatic (see it's a Pentax topic) when my film ran
out with half the park still to look at. I went to
load my only spare film, and somehow missed the cogs
for the first time in my life. I had already wound the
film on a bit, so I rewound it, inadvertently winding
the leader back in. So I had to go camera-less for the
rest of the day. THere were so many good photos I
wanted to take.
I ended up taking it into a camera shop. THey took it
out back and fixed it before I could blink. They must
have had one of those tools.
