I can only give you a partial answer. Pentax CO does fix it (or, anyway, they did in Feb '99 when mine did it) but it was under the extended warranty at the time. I wonder if they might be able to tell you though, if you call them? I've generally found friendly, helpful people on the other end when I've called them, and they must be QUITE familiar with the procedure to repair that problem. ERNR
