Kodak Portra 400VC is rapidly becoming my favorite 400-speed color film for shooting like this. Most of the consumer-grade 400 speed color film I've tried has had too much contrast for my taste. If you're shooting w/o flash, you'll have some color correction issues to deal with, so be aware of the lighting. I'm not sure if the SF auto show is similar or not to the ones I've been to, but I'm not sure you'll be able to get close enough to the cars themselves for an 18 or a 24 to be too useful, though I could imagine a wide-angle shot from a high vantage point over the show floor. Might want to bring some longer glass with you just in case the opportunity arises.
