Some times it helps to shop abit out of the photo supply area.
For instance one of those metal rimmed twist to store car windshield reflectors makes a great photo reflector (if you get the neutral silver one) at a cost of $6-7 instead of $40.
Pieces of black formcore (by it cheap at Wal-Mart) make niffy gobos, barndoors, etc.
Did with white foamcore for reflectors.
Use a large spring clamp from the Office Supply store to hold things in place.
I hope these will be enough to start you thinking.

Hi Kevin, Unless you; a) Travel a lot

Not every day, but several times a week

I care more for my images than my image, hence I use Pentax ;)
Four) Have a lot of disposable cash
Just blew it on a 80-200mm 2.8
Then make them yourself. I've found it cheaper, more flexible and
rewarding.
Any tips you have regarding this would be most appreciated.
If you do go with a system, my experience has been that Manfrotto is very reliable and well put together (has a Superclamp EVER broken?).
I have never broken a superclamp
PS - If you said yes to the fourth option, please send me some.
soon as I have more than I can possibly imagine, you can have the change ;)
Thanks for your response Kevin
