I agree. I mentioned the A50/2.8 because the Q was about 50mm lenses.

I recommend the A50/2.8 macro for 50mm close up.
Since I don't have one, I can't use it. I've the A100/2.8 macro, however
I have both the A 50/2.8 Macro and the A 100/2.8 Macro, and, while I would prefer the 100 for most of my macro shooting, the 50 is just so compact, and so lightweight, and so easy to carry, and such a joy to use, too, that it sometimes gets the nod when the 100 sometimes has to stay behind...
I've tried two different F 50/2.8 Macros, and no longer have either. The A is not quite as razor sharp as the F lens (a different optical design), but it is just so much sweeter to use.
