Any idea on how to fix it? Was so happy to offer a companion to my softy 55mm 1.8 ;)

This has happened several times on my 50/1.4 also.
You need to unscrew the ring that says Pentax-M, its just a ring screwed on there.
Beneath it you will find screws that holds that front piece stable, tighten them, use some threadlock.
