<<Somewhere along the Epson line, we pass from the rank amateur category to the prosumer group, and I'd like to know what series that is...>>
Among the users in the Yahoo B/W Print group the most popular and supported have been the 1270/80/90 wide carriage printers as well as their narrow carriage cousins. There are a number of papers, especially Hahnameul? Photorag. For cost purposes I use Epson EEM. Recently the move has been to the 2200 series. The R800 has increasing popularity. Among the cheap printers the C64 has been getting rave reviews using an MIS B/W ink set. You may have noticed that this group is primarily for those of us who still think in B/W. Recently, on a trip to California, I used my brother in laws Canon ?I950? and it was very nice to use and had excellent sharpness, but its BW had a distinct warm color cast to it. Some might like it, but I prefer a more neutral to cold BW. Jerry in Houston
