I have an opportunity to get the Tak 35/2.3 so was wondering what would be a
fair price for it, also for the 85/1.8 (it is Auto unfortunately so may not
buy it if it ain't so good).

I'll probably buy the Tak 35/2 down the road, I love messing about with the
35's as they are close to normal on my 20D.

What kind of outrageous sums of money should I expect to be relieved of for
these two lenses?

Gareth

When the 35/2.3 is offered on eBay, it goes for less than 100$. The "complete" kit includes a silver 65mm front cap (the lens has a 62mm filter size) and a special lens hood. Here is the hood.

Filters for this lens are harder to find than the lens itself. They are 65mm slip-on. If you intend to use the lens, as it is not multi-coated, it would be a good idea to make a custom tulip hood for it (carved out of a long round plastic hood). I don't know how this lens performs.

The Auto-Takumar 85/1.8 also goes for less than 100$. Its hood is very uncommon. 55mm filter size! (the only Takumar lens with that size). Original Asahi 55mm filters are uncommon. The 2.3 is also the only Takumar with a 62mm filter ring size. The 85mm should be good for portrait even if probably rather soft at wide apertures compared to the fabulous SMCT.
