The first one looks like a Pileated Woodpecker, but the second looks
more like a Downy Woodpecker to me (though I'm not a birder at all).
We've got a young Downy living in our yard. We first saw him in June
when he was a baby who had only just been kicked out of the nest:

Now that he's mostly grown up he looks much more like the bird in your
photo (just saw him at the feeder this morning).
