Hi Dave,

So glad to hear that you're not giving up.

The tools that you asked about really won't be of much help with the actual
scanning, nor will they help with color and sharpness.  However, they are
good tools - perhaps even great tools.  Shadows/Highlights is a PS CS tool,
and is not found in version 7.0. It is a very cool tool and, in and of
itself is reason enough to upgrade to CS.

Just keep plugging away.
