That reminds me of when I was playing with the descreening mode on my flatbed scanner. If you've ever had to scan a halftone image without proper descreening you'll know how hard it can be to work with later!
Of course, you could have just taken a macro photograph of your computer screen (someone did that for PUG once... "digital" theme I think)
