Was the image underexposed and you lightened it up in
PS?
I recently shot flyball in a really dark hall at
ISO3200. Because of the lighting, some of them were
between 1 and 1.5 stops underexposed. Bringing up the
levels in PS on the jpeg brought out the banding.
