Fred. I see you point about the bokeh. This never bothered me, though. If
you look at my test B&W test shots (july 2004) the SMC Pentax-K 2.8/105mm is
very sharp, even at f2.8: http://gallery37564.fotopic.net/p9926303.html
The next three pictures are f4. f5.6 and f8.  On the *ist D, a 2.8/105mm is
actually a nice and sharp 2.8/158mm. I quite often use it with the F-1.7x
Adapter for panoramas (a very nice and still quite fast 268mm lens).
A very nice 2.8/200mm would cost me twice the price af a *ist D body! I
still think, that this lens is the sharpest lens  at full aperture of all
the lenses I've got.

Agreed.  Absolutely.  Indeed.

I'm afraid that I have to disagree with this, though, Jens.  While
the lens is sharp, contrasty, and well built, I found its bokeh
(very important to me, but not to everybody, of course) to be very
