Fred. I see you point about the bokeh. This never bothered me, though. If you look at my test B&W test shots (july 2004) the SMC Pentax-K 2.8/105mm is very sharp, even at f2.8: http://gallery37564.fotopic.net/p9926303.html The next three pictures are f4. f5.6 and f8. On the *ist D, a 2.8/105mm is actually a nice and sharp 2.8/158mm. I quite often use it with the F-1.7x Adapter for panoramas (a very nice and still quite fast 268mm lens). A very nice 2.8/200mm would cost me twice the price af a *ist D body! I still think, that this lens is the sharpest lens at full aperture of all the lenses I've got. All the best Jens

While the lens is sharp, contrasty, and well built, I found its bokeh (very important to me, but not to everybody, of course) to be very harsh.
