I tried to use quota with 2.6.7 and got two serious problems:

1. soft quotas were treated like hard quotas
(grace time 8 days but behaved like 0 days)

2. after a few days no access to the file system was possible,
fs-options usrquota and grpquota were doubled
when listed by the mount command.
(all 14 clients, samba and nfs paralyzed,
a whole radio station silent, yes I had better days)
After reboot the problem was gone but I turned quota off.

so imho quota with reiserfs is experimental and buggy

damn. I can't switch to ext3 since my filesystem is too big
to be copied somewhere else.
I'm stuck and need quota with reiserfs and linux 2.6.
What can I do?

It's strange that the Japanese seem not to have embraced PS CS RAW though
Silkypix is a pretty cool little package. I followed the link to the "SILKYPIX
Developer Studio" yesterday and installed it. It has a whole lot more pre-set
options than CS PS RAW and seems better integrated WRT colour and camera
settings (seems better than PLab)

http://www.silkypix.com/

BTW There is a very recent upgrade to Pentax Remote Assistant on the Pentax
Japan web site, v1.01, don't know what it fixes but it contains the US version
too and it's not made it to the Pentax US web site as yet.

But that's the wrong "fix", as it introduces a different
__VMALLOC_RESERVE symbol than the one that is not anymore exported
(but still used). So while there are no errors at module load time,
any access to __VMALLOC_RESERVE will be to the above symbol and not
the kernel's.

The fix is either in nvidia's sources (e.g. 6629) or in rexprting the
symbol in the kernel (requires patching the kernel).

Seriously. I have a Canon 20D, had a Rebel. Great cameras.

Sorry guys.

Of course it's a royal pain in the neck when you want some decent glass
because you have to sell body parts to buy the lenses. so then you end up
buying old Takumar glass and looking at ways of cannibalising K mount lenses
(see Cotty's site) to get mf lenses.

But Canon produce great camaeras in my view. (feels like he's on stage with
his pants around his ankles, people staring at him....)

LOL - or the Wall Street Journal. From Dec 2nd:

The roles of several American oil companies, including ChevronTexaco
(CVX) and ExxonMobil (XOM), are also under investigation.
ChevronTexaco received subpoenas requesting information for two
separate grand jury proceedings, and said they were cooperating fully
with both investigations.

Jens,

Still muddled, I think. Reading your original statement in light of your
clarification indicates that you STILL think DOF ranges from 2/3 closer (or
ahead) to 1/3 further away (or behind) in respect of the focused distance.

Rather than talking from memory, please do as I suggested and consult the
DOF scale on a lens. Then you will see that the limits of DOF surround the
focus mark on each side by the same distance on the ring, but that the
actual distances to subject represented by these limits are 1/3 closer to
2/3 further away.

e.g. My 35mm lens when focused at 2m and aperture set to f22 has a near DOF
limit of about 1.5m and a far DOF limit of about 3m, i.e. 1/3 of DOF is
ahead and 2/3 of DOF is behind the point of focus. This is an observed
fact.

IOW, along the range of DOF from near to far, the focused point is 1/3 of
the way between the nearest and the furthest "sharp" objects.

In ASCI:

         NDOF***************F******************************FDOF
NEAR DOF POINT OF FOCUS FAR DOF

regards,
Anthony Farr
