I don't know why most of the folks here are so difficult about this unsubscribing business.

Here's a direct quote from the PDML FAQ, which is published here approximately every week:

"UNSUBSCRIBING-- To unsubscribe from the PDML you need to
send a message with "unsubscribe" as the Subject to:
        [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Sending an unsubscribe message to the list will get you
nothing but a bunch of silly replies."

Which, as you have experienced, is indeed true.

Here's the FAQ address:

It is assumed that anyone who joins and regularly reads the list messages, also has a chance to read the Frequently Asked Questions site, which is posted 3 to 4 times a month.

Every other list to which I belong has "subscribe and unsubscribe" information at the very bottom of each and every message, for the list member's convenience. This list never has, so far as I know, and that confuses a member who doesn't read the list regularly. He or she will probably miss the once-monthly posting of the FAQ, and thereby fall into a sort of limbo, not being able to figure out how to leave!
So, just as a cat plays with his "mouse," an unaware list member, like you, get played with until you get angry about it.

I hope you're leaving under neutral circumstances, and have otherwise been pleased with your visit here...
