Shel,
Shooting for me is a two stage effort. My main camera bag contains
just about everything I need. It is the one that I know I just need to put
camera and lenses into and I can travel internationally. I tend to have a
fanny pack that I cart the cameras and lenses for going around. The only
additionals in that one are pens and paper for getting peoples names who may
want copies, batteries and film. The lens cloth is always on my person.
As for my camera bag, it contains:
Spare batteries (camera and flash)
Light meter - with manual and accessories
Kodak Grey card
Cable release
Pens and pencils
Note pad or small slips of paper
Small flashlight
Swiss Army knife
Leatherman knife
Compass
Assorted mints and gum
Ear plugs (for travelling on puddle-jumpers)
Standby lens cloth (main one [Pentax] always on me)
Coins for battery slot (Belizean quarter and Honduran 50 cent piece
at the moment)
Lumiquest attachment for flash - can't recall last time I used it
Blower brush
Battery tester
GPS (when I travel outside the country)
Ends of different types of film boxes since I usually carry film
outside their boxes
This is all from memory, I may have forgotten a thing or two. One
thing I tend to do whenever I travel internationally, I tend to have a
reasonable change of clothing and a toothbrush in it in case my luggage gets
delayed.
No wonder I don't cart my Tamrac bag around too
much,
