Vivitar 6000 AF Ring Flash

This flash caused my PZ-1p to lock up, but has seemed to work fine in 
the *ist D. I asked Vivitar's customer service what the trigger voltage 
of the flash is. The answer is "less than six volts."

Does anyknow know the maximum acceptable flash voltages for the PZ-1p 
and the *ist D? "Less than six volts" sounds like it shouldn't have 
bothered the 1p.

Curiously, even though this flash does only TTL, not P-TTL, it produces 
fine macro exposures on the D.
