Well my readers know I got a bargain on a lens/shutter for the Graphic, and an M35/2.0 all the way from Merry Olde England. Needed but considered Xmassy anyway were a Steel to keep my Kitchen Knives sharp (the one thing that was planned), some warm socks that were on sale, and a new cel-phone*. The cel-phone was intended for next month but a deal I could not refuse came up

Today I took some photos uptown with the new to me 35/2.0, Boone is a lonely looking place on Christmas Day; and went for a drive up a road here in town I had noticed before, but had no idea where it went, and ended up on the Parkway just west of Blowing Rock.

Then there was dinner which I just had. Only thing wrong with it was a lack of folks to share it with. I have worked out a knack for making holiday meals that are almost as good as the old fashioned ones, and certainly better than you get in most restaurants, but fairly inexpensive and easy to make. Christmas dinner; turkey and all the fixings in 30 minutes. Later there will be pie and more coffee.

All in all this has been a good holiday, lacking only a family to share it with. Maybe next year I can adopt one...
