I did not notice the battery symbol changing,but that does not mean anything 
anyway
correct.<g>

I answered Pauls reply as it seems more to my stuation now.It looks like a 
setting
issue,as in using
a non AF lens in AF-S mode. Household experiment last night leans that way.

Thanks for your time and as i mentioned to Paul,looks like a bit more of a 
learning curve
on this
camera as opposed to the Nikons in functionality.
