Hi Fred, Gorgeous shot!

I loaded new Lithiums in the D last night and it said empty
right away!
After leaving it on for about 15 minutes all was well again.
I measured some new Lithium AAs and the voltage was nearly 1.9
volts per cell.
After sitting in the camera for a bit they dropped to a more
reasonable 1.75 volts.
I think the very high initial voltage was causing some confusion
in the D's poor brain. ;-/

BTW: I've now used 2 CR-V3s, 8 Alkaline AAs and 4 Lithium AAs
for a total of 2923 shots.
Mixed JPEG and RAW, OC flash about 20% of the time and instant
preview about 40%. A fair amount of 'Chimping". ;-)
All shots transferred to PC via USB cable.
The Alkalines barely even count, I removed them after a
short time due to constant low battery warnings, the bulk of
these shots were with the CR-V3s and Lithiums.

That's VERY impressive battery life!

Don
