As for what they were doing and why they were dressed as they were, I'll leave that to your imagination for a while. Part of what makes the photo work (if it works at all), is the lack of context for their dress and action, don't you think.

Can you imagine walking along, peaceable like, and all of a sudden these two people jump up near you like they're on a pogo stick?
