I delete a lot. Mostly because I'm too lazy to maintain backup of large amounts 
of pictures and get don't like to be reminded of how many bad pictures I take.

When taking slides I usually kept one of three pictyres, now it is more like 
one of four. Which means that I keep about the same number of pictures as 
before. First I delete almost half of them from the LCD screen, usually because 
the composition doesn't work.  On the computer I delete those where exposure is 
hopeless, the sharpness doesn't fit or doesn't work of other reasons (like 
being too boring).

The only exceptions are, of course, pictures of the kids....
