Thibouille, I've got a KX like yours and a few others
like Bob's. Bob's KX hotshoe has a slight indent in the shoe
itself where the tab is. The one I have like yours does not.
I think it was a variation during the life of the model.

Yours should have retaining springs on the rails that bend
up towards the front of the camera. Don't they provide enough
grip?

Thibs,
My KX hot shoe has a metal lip at the top.
It prevents the flash from pushing out.
It also has a red K on the shoe, between the contact and the lip.
Hope this helps, Bob S.

I discovered a little but very annoying problem with my KX.
I dunno if it is because it comes from an early serie or bevause it has
been repaired or whatever but: on the hot shoe there is nothing to
prevent the flash from going too deep in it.

Result is: I'm not even sure the flash will fire.
Of course I know I can plug the X-synchro cable etc... but not all my
flashes do support this.

Any trick could apply? Or could Pentax fix this when doing CLA? Do
anybody else experience this?

BTW: ther KM I bought for my father's birthday do feature a "correct"
hotshoe, however.
