I doubt the blue/yellow distortions can be avoided either when using that lens 
in that situation but I wouldn't expect to see a rendition like that if you 
were shooting with a nice prime. So if you get the chance it to shoot with the 
400/5.6 would be an interesting experiment but yeah I doubt your subject will 
pose just like that again. :-)
