Normally a series like that will feature change in all the major elements of the composition (e.g. a tree during a year), but in this case the major element is unchanging against a changing backdrop. Good idea. I don't know how effective it would be with the gun, though. For me a lot of the impact of the photo is seeing it disembodied in that way and apparently floating. It could lose some of that impact if you repeat it (no puns about repeaters, please!). On the other hand, perhaps it could say something about the constancy of gun culture against a changing world.
