I have this lens and love it! The size and weight make it very handy to
take along with a converter. As with most * lenses, this one is very sharp.
I have used it quite often with the 1.4XL (yes, it can use the XL version)
and with a Tamron AF 2X 7 element converter. I find the Tamron to lose a
little contrast, but not bad. The Pentax 1.4XL doesn't seem to degrade at
all. I'm sure it does, but I can't see it. If you would like me to mail
you a scan or two from this lens, let me know.
