Sweet shot!! Such a look of anticipation on her face. I like the way you took the photo from another kid's perspective, the way the adults are all cut off from the shoulders up. Reminds me of many Santa Claus Parades that my long-suffering father took me to when I was a kid in Montreal. We'd get up early, mom would make hot-cocoa and put it in a Thermos (vacuum flask) for us, and we'd head downtown. I remember some of those parade days being pretty damned cold! And, then, dad would take me to Eaton's (Montreal's largest department store at the time, and the sponsor of the parade), because the Santa on the final float would be the same one at the store, so Eaton's had the "real Santa". The line up for Santa on parade day would be huge, but dad and I waited anyway. Sorry to go on, but when I think of things like that, I realize that I had a terrific father, maybe the best ever, and I miss him just a bit more. Mind you, I said dad was long-suffering, because of his patience and stuff we did together, then I realize that I do stuff like that with my kids - last Santa Claus Parade we went to in Toronto was two years ago, and we watched it in a blizzard. By the end of the parade, the floats were completely covered in snow. But the kids loved it. And so did I. Sorry to have rambled so, but your photo really struck a chord with me, and I thought I might share it. See, Juan? One little picture meant all that to me! Amazing, eh? <vbg> On it's own, even without my personal history, it's a terrific shot, of course. Love it! cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson
