I took both my new lenses out for testing today, and I finally found out why I was having what I thought were metering problems over Christmas: it appears that the mechanism on the camera that controls the aperture gets stuck and won't close below around f/5.6. When I tried to do DOF preview, the aperture wouldn't close at all. We came home and Nate fiddled with the camera for a while. We thought he'd fixed it, but I only managed to squeeze off about 5 exposures before the problem reappeared.
I suppose this means the camera will be making a trip to Colorado, right? Is there any way we can fix this ourselves, and have any of you seen this on the istD before? Could it be related to cold weather? It was about 30 degrees Farenheit today/ Thanks, Amita
