In "A hard day's night" Beatles film, Ringo is using a camera which
obviouslt is Pentax/Honeywell (dunno which one?).. and a  black one
(so it is a pro camera, right? :o) with that...

This is something I've been wondering myself for quite some time now. I even tried to take screenshots from my dad's DVD copy of A Hard Day's Night, but couldn't get good enough quality to make anything out.


One of my coworkers seems convinced it's a pre-Spotmatic model, but I have no way of confirming this. The only thing legible on the camera is "Asahi Pentax."

The lens, btw, looks like a 55mm f1.4, but again I can't be sure.

Surely someone out there knows.  I wish I could find out.
