Remember NLQ? Near Letter Quality

When 24-pin dot matrix printers make nice results for a cheaper and quieter
price than a Qume Sprint 3/5, NEC SpinWriter, or Xerox. Not quite as good, but
close enough for the material's recipient -- for the customer.

The high quality & expensive B&W digital ink prints I've looked at fit the same
definition. From normal viewing distance they look fine. Nice smooth tones.
No banding. Really, really nice. (Albeit from $2000+ Epsons.)

They're not quite as good as chemical prints. In fact, up close not near as
good. But the customers are happy. And it provides what the pro wants -- a
smaller expenidure to profit window.

I don't know anyone using a daisy wheel printer any more. No matter how much
better it is than laster or dot matrix.

They're not quite as good as chemical prints. But they don't need to be.

(Yes, I'm trying to give myself a reason. And I'm getting close. Really
close.)

Sincerely,

C. Brendemuehl
