I assume you are talking about TTL-fash, where the camera cuts off the flash(es) as soon as sufficient exposure is achieved.
The D will work with multiple, dedicated flashes in TTL-flashes. AF360fgz, af500ftz, af 330ftz, af400ftz and af240ft will work in a "multiple-flash set-up". Others may work too (Metz). Slave driven strobes will not work in TTL-mode(s), since the flashes don't get any "cut-off-flash-beam-now" info back from the camera sensor. The strobes will give as much light as they possibly can or as much as the Flash "computer" will allow for the chosen (Aperture) setting. Don't use this option (setting the flash to e.i. F8), because the flashes will strike out eachother - and then you will have no control over the single flashes. Even in Manual mode TTL will work if you use connected, dedicated TTL-flash(es). Cameras like PZ-1 and MZ-S will do this as well. The D/DS will record the increased light, as long as there is an increased output = in the sense that this will result in a brighter image/higher EV. Check the historgram to dertermine the correct exposure (f-stop setting). I always use Manual Mode with a flash connected, since I don't trust Pentax AE, in the sense that the camera will allow very (too) slow shutter speeds. Hope this helps!? It may merit as much technical excellence as a CBS news report. ________________________________________________________________ Sent via the WebMail system at mail.safe-t.net
