I might make what I did into an action, although I did it "by hand" on
that image.

Basically, it was:

- duplicate the base layer
- radial blur the upper layer
- set opacity to ~80%
- create a new layer, make a black and white radial gradient, white in
the center, set to multiply.

Then I flattened the image and applied Rob Studdert's vintage action
that he posted here late last year (thanks Rob!)

That's it. Should be easy to make an action that does all that.

Even though there's greater control, I agree with David: I prefer to
have this in-camera and not as a post process. I thought about getting
a "lensbaby", but it seems horribly overpriced for something I can put
together with an old lens and a piece of plastic. I'll be
experimenting soon...
