Pentax *ist D with conspicuously faster AF and a 16-50mm 2.8 zoom lens!
Perhaps even with IS.

There isn't much need for that lens, we already have the excellent FA 35
2.0 and a 34 1.7 wouldn't be that different. An 1.4 would be an
attractive lens, but I bet that it would be neither cheap nor small. A
D-FA full frame would be much more attractive for both digital and film
users.

Almost the same thing I wrote about a 34 mm. 1.4, a 24/2 wouldn't be
much smaller than the full frame FA 24 2.0 The mirror chamber and
registration distance compatibility with Pentax film bodies are the
limiting factor.
It could be made cheaper, though, by using plastic instead of metal.
The funniest thing is that the "Four Thirds" standard appeared with a
promise of smaller lenses and camera bodies, and look at what Olympus
has achieved ;-)
