Well, there are three different 55 lenses. They're all at least okay, but the latest is the best. It has the writing around the outside of the filter ring like some A lenses. The camera should have mirror lock up. You can use one without the MLU, but it's a definitie minus, as the lockup can help eliminate a lot of vibration when shooting of a tripod. All 67 and 67II cameras have MLU. Most of the 6x7s have it as well. Only the very early models are without it. I believe the later model 135 lenses are somewhat superior to the earlier Takumar versions. Paul
