I suppose it depends on where you live as well, I few years ago I would not have bought as much as I did the last 2 months. In U$D those items might be expensive, but when converted to my local currency they are half to a third of local prices. I paid US113 for a Pentax-F 1.7 50mm, US180 for a Pentax F-2.8 28mm and US349 for a Pentax F-2.8 100mm Macro, they were much cheaper in dollar terms 6 months ago, but not when converted to South African Rands. I've spent about US1000 on ebay since december, not much, but a second hand 100mm Macro costs about US900 here, thats more than the new 100mm macro.

Damned if I know. KEH usually sells the for between 60 and 120 bucks.
(That's USD to those not conversant with US slang).
I know I wouldn't pay that much for one.

Madness. I paid 50 GBP from a shop.

Kostas (worth every penny, but not 3 times as much, I don't think!)

I can understand why mankind hasn't given up war.
During a war you get to drive tanks through the sides of buildings
and shoot foreigners - two things that are usually frowned on during peacetime.
