Hi Rob,

Triggering an off-camera slave using the RTF, as you suggested, is certainly
one option. Another is a third party dedicated cable and flash. I've got
an MZ-50 and a Sunpak 444D TTL flash dedicated for Pentax (bounce, swivel,
and GN120), with a dedicated off-camera cable on the way. I like the 444D
because you can use it on different bodies by purchasing different dedicated
shoe modules.

Prices for new equipment from B&H are about $100, $32, and $40 for the
flash, dedicated module, and dedicated cord, respectively. Used PT-2D
modules typically run about $20 or so on eBay, and used EXT-10 dedicated
cables (which don't show up too often) typically run around $30 or so. You
may also want to check B&H and KEH for used cables and modules -- last I
checked, they both had used versions of the cable in stock, and KEH had a
used PT-2D module. You can sometimes find a very good deal on a used 444D
(equivalent to the international version 36DX) in the $40 neighborhood, but
these often run more like $60 since they're often sold with a module --
usually not the module you need.

Hope this helps.
