Hmmm... Perhaps marking only the lids is not such a gerat idea :-)

This happened to me once - but it was my own fault...first time in a
new darkroom on my own and didn't know what the different liquids
smelt or felt like (only my second or so roll developed). I still
claim that the kids who used the darkroom during the day switched the
lids on the buckets around around, but i think i fixed, stopped and
then tried to develop. A wonderfully uniform clean film base was the
result.

I didn't do that again though. Or use that darkroom again.
