I am not bragging, but I wonder if several covers on several minor magazines
count?

Aside from that the guy deserves a break - I have not seen the photo but I
can tell you from personal experience that what is sent to the production
department for publication is not always what you get in the magazine.  It's
a series of long, twisty passages...  The photo may very well have been
wonderful on the 'chrome but did not survive the process to the cover...
