A few excerpts from the comments by Jim Kast, President Pentax Imaging
Company:

"The reception accorded the Pentax *ist SDS Super, our new broad-spectrum
compact digital SLR, has been outstandingmuch better than we expected...

...our overall market awareness is less than 40 percent and thats
something we have to address."

"...medium-format products are not moving because pros worry about
committing large sums to film cameras of any kind. Weve talked about
coming out with a digital Pentax 645, but I cant say anything more
definitive at this point."

Obviously the brightest spot in the Pentax lineup is digital SLRs and our
goal is a 20 percent market share..."

"We also have many digital SLR accessories under development, and I think
youll see some exciting announcements before too long."

There are also predictions from execs of Olympus, Delkin, Konica-Minolta,
Canon, Kodak, and Sony.

See you later, gs
