I have one and find it quite nice. Being fixed F8 it can be hard to focus in anything other than bright sunlight. I have the matching 2X converter as well.
Goes well on my *ist-DS where it becomes a 750mm F8 lens, and by cranking up the ISO setting its possible to get fast enough shutter speeds so handholding becomes much easier.
