The biggest factor, to me, is the inability to get good traditional prints made by the photo lab industry, making an inferior technology (digital capture and output) look way better than it is.
William Robb ========= It was a big factor for me getting a DSLR (sooner than I thought I would, BTW). Only one lab around here that makes decent prints and they aren't all that close to me (and now, finally, they will also print from digital, but it took them a while to come up to speed -- I no longer worry they will disappear too).
