When I was i kid, "idiot proof" meant, that the camera would not allow two exposures in the same frame. Today it means "Point & Shoot", I beleive. The philosophy seems to be: "If you don't make any decisions, you won't make any mistakes". If the photographs doesn't turn out right, you simply have a bad camera and need to buy a new one. This philosophy seems to prevail - generation after generation. Don't focus. Don't asses the light. Don't asses the scene (action, portrait, landscape, macro etc.)
I assume the next generation of cameras will have, not (only) have an overexposure alert, but also a "bad motiv" or bad composition alert. Soon we can all stay home, watch the telly and let the camera record/frame the surrounding environment, events etc. - for your entertainment the next morning. You may even let the camera/computer "mount" the images in "frames" which are already a built in facility in your living room, bedroom etc. Jens Bladt mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://hjem.get2net.dk/bladt -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Graywolf [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sendt: 1. februar 2005 19:29 Til: [email protected] Emne: Re: *istD Lens Question Because, the camera defaults to "Idiot Proof" (see my tag line). graywolf http://www.graywolfphoto.com "Idiot Proof" <==> "Expert Proof" ----------------------------------- Tom C wrote: > Thanks all.
