Hi, >> Over the years I've photographed this relic numerous times. Here's one >> interpretation ... >> >> http://home.earthlink.net/~pdml-pics/forsaken.html >> >> Shel >>
> There's always something haunting about abandonned things, whether > houses, factories, any vehicle, etc. Shel's photo reminded me of one I took in the summer. It's taken from an arts centre restaurant in Brentford, on the River Thames. The river was flowing very fast when this guy appeared. I had to find an open window, and guess the exposure - the camera doesn't have a meter, and I couldn't whip mine out in time. It's somewhat overexposed, and the focus is not quite bang on on the man on the boat. http://www.web-options.com/a0.jpg I haven't done anything with it in PS other than desaturate and unsharp mask. It doesn't quite work for me. The composition is out, and it's not quite clear enough what's going on. I would like to have got the boat a bit further downstream, but the river was moving so fast that by the time I'd wound on he was well out of position. On the far bank is Kew Gardens. -- Cheers, Bob
