1. Laziness: It is too much trouble to keep on top of all that stuff.
2. Stupidity: I don't know what I am doing, and furthermore I do not care.
3. Cheapness: We don't do the volume we used to and management says we have to run the chemicals longer between checks.


A good story to indicate #2 is a Wal-Mart I was in down in Charlotte. The guy behind the counter came across the lab to talk to me dragging a customers fresh out of the machine film along the floor behind him.

In Shel's incident it sounds like #3 as I can not imagine him doing business at places like 1 & 2.
