You are going to have to beg, borrow or steal a Hot Shoe Grip and flash synch cord A to use the socket on the front of the LX. Flash goes on the HSG and the cord plugs into the side of the HSG. It does sound like a dislodged contact, which would be cheap to fix - if it were not on an LX.....
