Hi Bruce,

IIRC, the sun was off to the right in this shot, so it wasn't shining
directly through the kite.  Technical details .... hmmm, let's see, the
film was Fuji NPS 160, camera was probably the MX, lens was either a
K85/1.8 or K120/2.8, aperture probably f8.0, shutter speed probably 1/250. 
Film scanned in Nikon Coolscan V.  All I did was slightly adjust brightness
(+8) and contrast (+3) in Photoshop CS and do a little spotting.

Glad you enjoyed the pic.  There were quite a few huge kites of this type
at the festival.
