Godfrey:

Thanks for the compliment. The fisheye on the DS leaves a little to be desired compared to using it on a full frame camera... but hopefully Pentax will eventually have a digital full frame to sell us.

Nikon... yup, I fit the three tabs of the Nikon mount into the three spaces in the Pentax mount, held tight and took those around my home. Three hands would have been useful. One could use construction adhesive I suppose, or chewing gum. :-)

Thanks for the url, I just registered the camera.

Good to know about the DA14/2.8, now I need to save some $$$.

I decided on the DS, bought from B&H a couple of weeks ago for

Same as I paid for mine. I'm not dissatisfied, and the second
body that I'll likely need soon will be less expensive than the
first. ;-)

Here's some of my first shots with it. They're all shot as

JPGs, I hope

to try RAW sooner or later, emphasis on sooner:

The first shot is cropped by about 10%, the rest are

uncropped.

The fisheye lens used is my "old" screw-mount 17mm

Fisheye-Takumar.

Nice work. So many people using fish eye wide angles ... I guess
one of these days I'll have to get a Zenitar K 16mm and give it
a go.

Just for the heck of it, I tried some shots with some Nikon

lenses,

(before I sell'em) handheld onto the isDS:

Interesting! You just jammed the lens up against the body and
snapped away? That's pretty good!

There WASN'T any warranty card for me to fill out and return,
is this normal now for Pentax... or have I inadvertently

bought a gray

market version?

A number of people have reported not getting a warranty card, I
can't remember whether mine had one. I registered it using the
website:

P.S. The manual seems to indicate that the Wide Angle SMCP-DA
14mm f/2.8 lens can be used on the D... but not on the DS, is

this

true?

I bought the DA14/2.8 with the DS ... It works fine. Enjoy your camera, make many pictures. ;-)
